Bulgarian name of Allspice derives from the Turkish word bahar, which means spice. Today, Jamaica is the largest producer of Allspice. It is used in the preparation of soups and dishes of fish, game and beef.
Allspice is often added to some types of canned pickled vegetables and sausages. Combines very good with black pepper, celery, onion, garlic and bay leaf. Moreover, its seeds are an integral component of the aromatic curry.
