Sharena Salt – Bachkovo Style (table salt savory mix Bachkovo style, trapezna salt, Bachkovska trapezna sol, Bachkovska savory mix, Bachkovo Style Sharena Salt, or Bachkovska savory) is a truly delicious mix of traditional Bulgarian spices. Sharena Salt – Bachkovo Style is simply another name of the Bachkovska sharena salt.
Called Bachkovo* after the region it originated it from, this type of sharena salt is made of domestic and wild savory, is very popular in Bulgaria and of course super tasty.
Usage: This particular variation goes well with boiled eggs, sandwiches (e.g. butter and bacon) and pizza or for flavoring breads. It also goes well on stews, toasts, bean salads, feta cheese, etc.
*Bachkovo is a village situated in the west part of Rhodopes Mountains (Rodopi). It is famous as the home of Bulgaria’s second largest monastery – the magnificent Bachkovo Monastery, founded in 1083.
